Today, on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the chairman of the Mejlis, Gulshat Mammedova, received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman in Turkmenistan (with residence in Ankara) Qasim Mohamad Salim Al-Salhi, the State News Agency reports.
During the meeting, the paries exchanged views on the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation.
The Ambassador of Oman stressed his country's interest in enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan, including in establishing trade, business and cultural contacts.
At the end of the meeting, readiness was expressed for the development of inter-parliamentary relations, which serve as an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations.
On the same day, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Turkmenistan was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The subject of an interested exchange of views was the expansion of interstate cooperation. In particular, the parties expressed their commitment to the development of political dialogue, the intensification of economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the expansion of Turkmen-Omani cooperation in the field of foreign affairs agencies, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports. Meetings of the Ambassador of Oman in a number of other ministries and departments are also envisaged.
