The Canadian film "Colony" will be screened in Ashgabat within the framework of Francophonie Month

Today at 18:30, the French Institute in Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of Canada, invites everyone to a film screening as part of Francophonie Month.

Audiences will be able to see the 2018 Canadian drama "Colony," directed by Geneviève Dulude de Celles. The film will be shown with Russian subtitles.

The film explores important issues of cultural identity and interpersonal relationships. In a Quebec school, a young woman named Milia meets Jimmy, a young Indigenous man from the Odanak reservation. The heroine embarks on a difficult journey of self-discovery: she tries to understand her feelings, overcome internal conflicts, and find common ground with loved ones who prefer to remain silent.

The film will allow viewers to delve deeper into the sociocultural context of modern Canada, explore the nuances of interaction between different ethnic groups, and follow the subtle psychological development of the relationships between the main characters.

Admission to the film screening is free.

The French Institute is located at 69 Aga Garryev (Sokolovskaya) Street, Ashgabat.
