Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree retiring military personnel and conducting the next conscription of citizens for military service, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
According to the decree, military personnel who have served the required terms will be discharged from the reserves between April and June 2026. At the same time, male citizens aged 18 to 27 who are not eligible for an exemption or deferment from conscription will be called up for military service.
In pursuance of the decree, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also signed a separate order instructing the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Minister of National Security, the Chief of the State Border Service, the Chief of the Presidential Security Service, and the Chairman of the State Migration Service to conduct the discharge of military personnel in a ceremonial setting and to reward those who excelled in combat and social-humanitarian training.
