Consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan took place in Baku. The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, as well as current aspects of the regional and international agenda, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
The delegations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov.
Particular attention was paid to the development of political and diplomatic dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, collaboration in the transport, logistics, and energy sectors, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
During the talks, the key role of high-level meetings in strengthening bilateral relations was emphasized, and preparations for upcoming summits were discussed. The parties also noted the importance of interparliamentary cooperation and the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation.
The strategic importance of the two countries as a transit hub between Asia and Europe was emphasized in the context of the development of international transport corridors. The parties expressed interest in diversifying trade and economic ties, expanding business contacts, and developing cooperation in education and science, including academic exchanges and partnerships between universities.
Following the consultations, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen their partnership and continue constructive dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.
