Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a bilateral meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper. Minister for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty also participated in the talks, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, the regional agenda, and current international topics. Participants noted the importance of the first ministerial meeting in the "Central Asia – United Kingdom" format and confirmed their commitment to infusing it with practical content.

Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to resolving international issues exclusively through peaceful political and diplomatic means based on international law and the UN Charter.

The development of economic partnership, including in the areas of green technologies, digitalization, and transport, as well as the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, were also discussed.

Following the talks, the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening the Turkmen-British partnership and discussed the prospects for organizing high-level visits.
