Afghanistan intends to develop relations with Turkmenistan – Akhund

Afghanistan reaffirms its commitment to strengthening relations with Turkmenistan based on mutual respect and intends to develop comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Afghan Prime Minister Hassan Akhund stated this in a letter to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

"Afghanistan expresses gratitude to Turkmenistan for its support in implementing major projects aimed at achieving economic independence and expanding opportunities. We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening and expanding relations based on mutual respect and intend to further develop comprehensive relations between our friendly and fraternal countries," the letter states.

Akhund also congratulated the President of Turkmenistan and the people of the country on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. "On behalf of the government and people of Afghanistan, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the fraternal people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan," he wrote.

According to the Prime Minister, Ramadan is a symbol of unity and solidarity among the entire Muslim Ummah, and during these days, Muslims around the world dedicate themselves to charity and good deeds.
