Astronomers report an expected increase in the number of magnetic storms in the coming years. This phenomenon is caused by the growth of coronal holes on the Sun, Oxu.Az reports.
According to scientists, the number of magnetic storms will increase until 2028. After reaching peak activity, a gradual decline in solar activity is expected. By 2029–2030, the Sun is projected to enter its minimum phase.
Magnetic storms occur as a result of the influence of solar wind on the Earth's magnetic field and can affect the operation of technical systems and the well-being of weather-sensitive people.
