The Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction announced the winners of the First Internet Olympiad in Cartography, held on December 17 among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan.
105 students from 21 universities across the country participated in the Olympiad. The competition results were announced for both individual and team competitions, according to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
Nine participants won prizes in the individual competition:
1st place was won by Muhammet Amanov, a student of the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annaev, and Aziza Kurbanbaeva, a student of the D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
2nd place was awarded to Gulberdi Orazov, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Gundogdy Aymammedov, a student of the Border Institute of Turkmenistan, and Oguldursun Nezhimetdinova, a student of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas.
3rd place was taken by Saparmyrat Nazarov (Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan), Ismail Hojanepesov (Turkmen Agricultural Institute), Sahra Bashimova (Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan), and Yaran Gurbanov (S. A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University).
The overall team standings are as follows:
1st place – Aba Annaev International Horse Breeding Academy and the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering;
2nd place – Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, and the Border Institute of Turkmenistan;
3rd place – Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute.
The Cartography Olympiad, held for the first time by a Turkmen university, has become an effective platform for identifying talented, erudite, and broad-minded young people and assessing students' level of preparation in the subject, the source notes.
