Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressing gratitude for his support for Azerbaijan's accession to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full participant. This was reported in the letter, published on the State News Agency of Turkmenistan website.
In his message, the Azerbaijani leader emphasized that Baku consistently attaches particular importance to strengthening partnerships with Central Asian countries, united by shared historical, religious, and cultural roots. Aliyev noted that the decision to join the format was made during the VII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent.
"I am confident that this decision, which once again confirms the friendly and fraternal nature of our relations, will strengthen cooperation and interaction across a vast geographic area," the letter states.
The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the meeting's results would significantly contribute to realizing the potential for cooperation between Central Asian countries in the political, economic, transport, energy, humanitarian, and security spheres. In conclusion, Aliyev wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and success, and peace and prosperity to the people of Turkmenistan.
The 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan will be held in Turkmenistan in 2026.
