The White House held its annual turkey pardon ceremony ahead of Thanksgiving. This year, President Donald Trump pardoned two birds, Gobble and Waddle, RIA reports.
The turkeys were transported to Washington in advance, where they were housed at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel prior to the ceremony.
The tradition of pardoning turkeys on Thanksgiving Day has existed in the United States for decades and is one of the symbolic events held at the White House on the eve of the national holiday.
