The feature film "Composer," shot in Turkmenistan, and the joint Turkmen-Uzbek film "Magtymguly" have been nominated for the Open Eurasian Film Award "Diamond Butterfly."
The list of nominees was announced on November 21, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
A total of 34 films from Russia, China, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Venezuela, Cuba, Senegal, South Africa, Pakistan, Belarus, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, and other countries are participating in the competition.
The winners will be determined by a vote of an expert panel.
The Diamond Butterfly Award ceremony will take place on November 27 at Nikita Mikhalkov's Workshop "12."
Twelve awards have been established for the winners, including a prize for contribution to world cinema. The competition's grand prize is 1 million USD. The laureates will receive 250 thousand USD each, the source notes.
