Kazakhstan has proposed joint IT projects with Turkmenistan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports following talks between the two countries' presidents, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"Given Kazakhstan's experience in digitalizing public services and implementing IT technologies, it has proposed that Turkmenistan implement joint projects in this area," the statement reads.
The talks took place on November 25 during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the particular significance of the visit and emphasized that Turkmenistan is an important and reliable partner for Kazakhstan.
According to the Kazakh leader, relations between the two countries are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership based on shared historical roots and spiritual and cultural values. Tokayev also congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues. Particular attention was paid to expanding trade and economic ties, developing transport and transit, including the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway as an important link in the North-South corridor, as well as joint projects in agriculture and energy.
