Nottingham Trent University professors Martin Sevior and Sarah Khan paid a working visit to the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages November from 10 to 14.
The visit took place within the framework of the British Council's "Accelerating English Language Learning in Central Asia" program, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The guests held a training seminar for the institute's English teachers, discussing active learning methods used in teaching English, key aspects requiring special attention in the teaching process, and ways to implement inclusive education.
The professors also held a master class for fourth-year students on methods for teaching reading and writing in English, as well as ways to integrate inclusive education into the educational process.
The guests also attended classes given by institute graduates working as teachers at specialized secondary schools No. 131 and No. 140 in Ashgabat, and provided methodological recommendations for implementing inclusive education for schoolchildren.
During the visit, representatives from Nottingham Trent University also attended classes with the institute's teachers, observed the lessons, and provided their comments and methodological recommendations for further professional development.
