We previously reported that the next meeting of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation is scheduled for the last ten days of November in Doha.
Deputy Prime Minister N. Atagulyev reported on preparations for the upcoming meeting at the November 14 meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan.
It was noted that issues related to expanding bilateral partnerships in trade, economic, investment, financial, and banking sectors will be discussed in Doha. Strengthening cooperation in energy, transport and communications, information technology, agriculture, and environmental protection will also be considered.
Furthermore, opportunities for intensifying cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres, particularly in education, culture, youth policy, sports, and tourism, will be explored.
In this regard, a corresponding proposal was submitted to the head of state for consideration.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the extensive work being carried out in the country to strengthen mutually beneficial trade and economic relations with the State of Qatar. Having approved the proposal submitted by Turkmenistan on the composition of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to take appropriate measures in this regard, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
