The premiere of the play "Marriage" based on N.V. Gogol took place at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theatre.
The director of the play is People's Artist of Turkmenistan Ovez Gelenov, the production designer is Honored Cultural Figure of Turkmenistan Batyr Bekmuradov, the musical designer is Honored Cultural Figure of Turkmenistan Rovshen Nepesov, and the choreographer is Olga Vasilyeva.

The new production features numerous dances and songs, including extras, elevating the production to the level of vaudeville, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age." The romance "In the Moonlight the Snow Silvers" was performed in Turkmen and received a storm of applause from the audience.

The market scene was a real highlight of the play—cheerful, sunny, and musical.
All the actors managed to perfectly convey the personalities of their characters. Thanks to costume designer Batyr Bekmuradov and the tailoring team, everyone in the production wore outfits that reflected Russian fashion of the early 19th century.

The leading roles were played by the following actors: Gulnabat Abdullayeva (Agafya Tikhonovna), Dovran Charyev (Podkolesin), Yazgeldy Pashikov (Kochkarev).
