On November 7, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Indonesia M. Mashalov presented his credentials to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The Ambassador is based in Kuala Lumpur.
The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed during the ceremony. The ambassador conveyed greetings to the Indonesian President from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Indonesian President congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him success in his work. During the conversation, the parties discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian areas. The ambassador also extended an invitation to the Indonesian President to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan.
Following the ceremony, the newly appointed ambassadors met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono. The Minister expressed his willingness to assist the ambassador in his diplomatic endeavors.
The Turkmen side informed the participants of the upcoming Forum on December 12, 2025, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust in Ashgabat, and expressed hope that a high-ranking delegation from Indonesia would participate in the event. The parties agreed to maintain regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
