“Al Ahli's” 32-year-old German midfielder Julian Draxler and Spanish forward Eric Exposito will miss the AFC Champions League Round 4 match against Turkmen side “Arkadag” due to injury, the Qatari team's head coach, Igor Bišćan, announced at the pre-match press conference.
The match between “Arkadag” and “Al-Ahli” will take place on November 5 at the stadium in the “smart city” of Arkadag. Kickoff is scheduled for 18:45 local time. The match will be officiated by a team of referees from Tajikistan, led by FIFA referee Gulmurodi Sadullo.
“Al Ahli” leads group B with six points after defeating Bahrain's “Al-Haldiya” (2-1) on October 29. “Arkadag” is in last place with two points but has a game in hand. The teams drew 2-2 in their first meeting in Doha.
Draxler, a 2014 World Cup winner with Germany and former “PSG” player, has been playing for “Al Ahli” since 2023.
