The UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, met with entrepreneurs from the Mary velayat and the heads of large local companies, “Täze Aý” and “Gerçek”.
According to Turkmenistan: Golden Age, the meeting was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).
The parties discussed ways to integrate sustainable business practices to foster innovation and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Today, the “Täze Aý” group of companies is one of the largest producers of sausages, confectionery, dairy products, and semi-finished meat products, offering consumers hundreds of food products. All products are certified according to international quality and safety standards and meet Halal requirements.

Meanwhile, “Gerçek”, one of the country's leading footwear companies, has demonstrated impressive growth. Initially consisting of a single production facility, the company now comprises over ten high-tech divisions. A significant increase in jobs attests to its active development.

The company currently employs hundreds of highly skilled workers. Thanks to equipment modernization and expanded production space, its technical capacity allows it to produce millions of pairs of shoes per year.
Dmitry Shlapachenko emphasized the importance of further cooperation between the UN and Turkmenistan's commercial sector to stimulate innovation, create jobs, and achieve sustainable development within the framework of the 2030 Agenda.
Thanks to comprehensive government support, Turkmen entrepreneurs continue to actively develop, expand production capacity, and explore new markets.
