A creative meeting dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the renowned modern Turkmen poet Gurbannazar Ezizov took place at the Bazar Amanov State Children's Library of Turkmenistan.
As reported by “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”, the poet's eldest daughter, editor of the magazine Gurluşyk we binagärlik, Yazgul Ezizova, was among the invited guests.
The refined and deeply sensitive lyricist Gurbannazar Ezizov is known as the "poet of spring and autumn." He was born on the first day of spring, in March, and tragically passed away in the fall, at just 35 years of age. Despite his short life, he left behind a significant literary legacy. His poems reflect the life and destiny of the Turkmen people.

Reminiscing about the poet's life and work, the meeting participants noted his unique gift for expressing the thoughts of his generation with insight and metaphor. Particular attention was paid to his friendship with the distinguished composer Nury Halmamedov, who set most of Ezizov's poems to music. Composer Dangatar Hydyrov has also written many songs based on the writer's poems.
The evening featured a performance by students from the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, who recited the poet's poems accompanied by dutar.
At the end of the event, guests were presented with copies of the poet's new collection of poems.
As a reminder, a large-scale song and music celebration will be held in November to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Writer of Turkmenistan and laureate of the Magtymguly State Prize, Gurbannazar Ezizov.
