The Uzbek government has expanded the list of countries whose citizens can enter the country visa-free for up to 30 days. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted the corresponding resolution, according to the website kun.uz.
The list includes seven countries: Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. Chinese citizens previously had a seven-day visa-free stay, but the stay has now been increased to 30 days.
The resolution also establishes shorter processing times for business visas. Citizens of 12 countries—Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Japan—will be able to obtain a business visa within two days. For citizens of the UAE, Iran, and Pakistan, the processing time will be three days.
According to authorities, currently, citizens of 86 countries enjoy visa-free entry into Uzbekistan.
