Turkmenistan expects to produce 80 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025, said Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the “Turkmengaz” State Concern, at a press conference following the OGT 2025 International Conference and Exhibition held in Ashgabat.
"This year's gas production level is 80 billion cubic meters, and we're planning to continue producing in this region next year," Babayev said.
According to him, gas production in Turkmenistan is planned to increase in the coming years. He noted that the fourth stage of development of the country's largest gas field, “Galkynysh”, with a design capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year, will begin next year. This stage will be implemented by the Chinese company CNPC, which won an international tender.
In the first half of 2025, Turkmenistan produced approximately 39 billion cubic meters of gas; in 2024, the total volume of gas production in the country exceeded 77 billion cubic meters.
The International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2025" (OGT 2025) was held in Ashgabat from October 22-24.
