Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Italy on an official visit, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
"The head of state's plane landed at Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. Here, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by officials of the Italian Republic, as well as members of our country's official delegation," the statement read.
According to the publication, during his visit, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, participate in a Turkmen-Italian business forum, and attend the opening ceremony of the "Ancient Civilization of Turkmenistan" exhibition at the Capitoline Museum in Rome.
Following the visit, it is expected that a package of bilateral documents on key areas of cooperation will be signed.
