National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his support of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
"The United States of America was among the first to support the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted at a ceremonial meeting to mark the start of construction of the next stage of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline.
According to the National Leader, over the years of independence, relations between Turkmenistan and the United States have developed at a high level, and bilateral cooperation encompasses trade, investment, and contacts between business circles.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized the importance of the Turkmen-American Business Council and the work of American companies in the country, including Boeing, Case New Holland, John Deere, Caterpillar, General Electric, Sikorsky, and Nicklaus Design. He particularly highlighted the contribution of Brownstein, which is acting as a consultant for the TAPI project and providing valuable recommendations for its implementation.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recalled that the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (UNCLDC) was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in 2025. The 80th session of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the "Avaza Political Declaration" resolution related to this event. The US President sent a congratulatory message regarding the conference.
"I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, for his support of the significant international events held in our country, for his congratulatory message, and for his support of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project," the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted.
