The Maryhydrogeology enterprise of the Turkmengeology State Concern is working to increase groundwater reserves and provide the population of the Mary and Lebap velayats with clean drinking water.
Drilling and survey work is currently underway at the Mary (Zahmet, Karabil, Tarimli, Töreshih, Kalçe, Gündogar Bayramali, Günbattar Bayramali, Tezeoba, and Sandykgach) and Lebap (Zahmetkesh and Narazimy) fields. Exploration and research work is underway at these sites to determine the presence of groundwater and mineral waters, and their reserves are being assessed, according to ussatnews.com.
In addition, hydrogeologists are conducting groundwater studies for technical purposes in the Ahal and Balkan velayats. Specifically, a study of iodine-bromine waters is currently being conducted in the Balkan velayat, on the premises of the Bereket Iodine Plant, at the plant's request.
By the end of 2025, hydrogeologists plan to conduct geological surveys at new groundwater deposits in Mary, such as Hindigush, Mollanepes, Chashgyn, and Peshanaly.
This year, the company received five high-tech drilling rigs produced by leading Chinese manufacturers.
"We've already implemented these rigs at our exploration sites, which are designed for drilling to depths of 200-300 meters. This has allowed us to significantly improve production technologies and working conditions for our specialists and employees. "In the first nine months of this year, we drilled 18 200 meters with mechanical core drilling rigs and 20 281 meters overall, which is 111,4% of the planned volume. We are confident that 2025 will be a successful year by all standards," noted Amanguly Charyev, head of the Maryhydrogeology expedition.
