Honor unveiled a unique concept smartphone, the Robot Phone, equipped with a robotic gimbal camera capable of autonomously tracking and framing objects. The new device was demonstrated by the company's CEO, Li Jian, during the launch of the new Magic 8 series.
According to the developers, the Honor Robot Phone combines three key technologies: artificial intelligence, robotic mobility, and professional photography. The device's key feature is a hidden hinge mechanism with a miniature camera "arm" that can move and stabilize images without a traditional gimbal.

The heart of the system is the large-scale AI model Yoyo, which recognizes user emotions, selects content, and controls connected devices.
The Robot Phone project is part of Honor's "Alpha Project" initiative, which aims to transform smartphones from simple gadgets into intelligent "life companions." The company is actively investing in the development of embodied intelligence technologies, opening new labs in the fields of robotics, bionic design, and motion systems.

Honor plans to reveal more details about the Robot Phone at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. A teaser video shows the device with a movable camera resembling a robotic head, underscoring the company's commitment to merging smartphone and robotics technologies.
