Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev held talks with representatives of leading UK educational and academic institutions: Stephen King (Cambridge University Press and Assessment), Arkadiusz Jaworski (Pearson), Tom Kiddle (Norwich Institute for Language Education), Jared Philip and Beata Crital (Heriot-Watt University), and Desai Govindbhai Veljibhai (Imperial English UK). Representatives of several Turkmen universities also participated in the talks, according to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the visit, UK representatives visited several universities in Turkmenistan and held master classes for English language teachers. Topics discussed included modern teaching methods, language assessment, the integration of digital resources into the educational process, preparation for international exams, and the development of communication skills.
The parties discussed new areas of cooperation, including the introduction of modern language teaching methods, the development of academic mobility, advanced training for teachers, and the implementation of joint educational and research projects.
Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of education and the development of joint programs in STEM and language education.
The meetings were held as part of the International Exhibition and Scientific Conference "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State" in Ashgabat.
