Russia and Turkmenistan have every opportunity to double their trade turnover within the next three years, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin stated in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel.
"Currently, Russia's exports exceed imports overall. Therefore, we see the potential to increase trade turnover by tens of percent. In the next three years, we can double trade turnover; we have every opportunity to achieve this," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
As Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev noted at a meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission on economic cooperation, Russia is one of Turkmenistan's main trading partners, with an annual trade turnover of approximately 1,5 billion USD.
"Bilateral trade has maintained a steady growth rate in recent years. At the same time, an analysis of the range of export and import deliveries shows that there is significant potential for increasing trade volumes by expanding the range of products," the Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
According to him, the Russian market is one of the priorities for Turkmenistan.
