The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, AZERTAC reports.
In his speech, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Murad Huseynov noted the shared history and cultural roots of the two nations. "The high level of relations between the two countries creates favorable conditions for closer acquaintance between peoples, expanding mutual cultural exchange, and implementing joint projects in the future," he emphasized.
Turkmenistan's Deputy Minister of Culture, Nursahet Shirimov, noted that the event serves to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. He expressed hope for the further expansion of cultural cooperation.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibbayli, stated that the cultures of the two peoples, which developed over millennia on common historical roots, remain interconnected today.
During the opening ceremony, guests were treated to a photo exhibition showcasing the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, along with examples of national costumes, works of decorative and applied art, and museum exhibits. A concert featuring Turkmen dances and musical performances was also held.
The Days of Turkmenistan Culture will run until October 15. Events will be held in Baku and Ganja.
