The Turkmen delegation to the OSCE spoke at the Warsaw Conference on the Human Dimension, organized on October 6 by Finland and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
In his speech, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the OSCE Hemra Amannazarov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to cooperation with the OSCE and its institutions.
The Permanent Representative emphasized Turkmenistan's achievements in human rights protection, humanitarian policy, and social integration, as well as the country's commitment to the principles of humanism, equality, and international cooperation.
Thus, on September 26, by decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, 225 convicted persons were pardoned; by another decree of the head of Turkmenistan, 142 foreign citizens from seven countries representing 15 nationalities received residence permits.
In 2024, UNHCR officially confirmed that Turkmenistan had successfully resolved all known cases of statelessness on its territory, thereby fulfilling its obligations under the UN's global #IBelong campaign. Turkmenistan has become a global leader in eliminating statelessness, further demonstrating the country's commitment to upholding international humanitarian standards.
