The Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages held a Korean language writing competition. This is the first Korean language competition held in Turkmenistan, the university informed us.
The event was organized on the occasion of the international exhibition and scientific conference "Healthcare, Education and Sports in the Era of the Renaissance of a New Era of a Powerful State" and within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of science and education between the Turkmen university and Kangwon National University of the Republic of Korea.
The competition was attended by Mr. Lee Min Hee, Director of the Global Talent Center at Kangwon National University in the Republic of Korea, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in an international exhibition and scientific conference.
The competition was attended by students from the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, majoring in pedagogical education – Korean language, Turkmen language and literature, students from the King Sejong Korean Language Training Center in Ashgabat, and students from Specialized Secondary School No. 88 with in-depth study of foreign languages.
The competition consisted of two stages. In the first stage, participants competed in writing essays in Korean on assigned topics. According to the competition rules, authors of essays that excelled in content and grammar were admitted to the second stage, during which they recited their written essays.
Third-year student of the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature, Nuray Meredova, took first place in the competition. Second place went to first-year student of the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature, Selbiniyaz Ataniyazova, and Gulnabat Atayeva, a student at the King Sejong Korean Language Training Center in Ashgabat. Third place was taken by students of the King Sejong Korean Language Study Center in Ashgabat, Meylis Islimov and Olga Permanova.
The winners of the competition were awarded a certificate of honor from the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and the Kangwon National University of the Republic of Korea, as well as commemorative gifts.
