Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Qatar's Ambassador to Ashgabat, Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad Al-Azbi, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country. This was reported on the Turkmen Foreign Ministry's website.
The Qatari diplomat expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the support provided during his diplomatic activities, as well as for creating favorable conditions for the successful completion of his mission.
During the talks, the parties confirmed the two countries' commitment to further developing bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The importance of organizing visits at the highest and high levels, as well as the need to further improve the legal framework for interaction, was noted.
The parties expressed their support for continuing the positive practice of interaction and mutual support within international organizations, primarily the UN.
During the conversation, interest was expressed in expanding trade and economic ties. In this context, the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was noted, with preparations for its next meeting underway at the interagency level.
The diplomats also confirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
