Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to hold the international competition "Ýylyň türkmen edermen alabaýy" (The Bravest Alabai of the Year) in Ashgabat on October 26, 2025, timed to coincide with the Turkmen Alabai Day, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
According to the document, the event will also include competitions among carpet weavers, artists, sculptors, photographers, publishing house workers, and television cameramen for the best artistic depiction of the Turkmen Alabai in works of fine and applied art, printed materials, photographs, and television programs. The President approved the jury for the competitions.
The decree was signed to further enhance the global fame of the Turkmen Alabai, a national treasure and source of pride for the Turkmen people.
In 2024, the competition was won by a five-year-old Alabai named Akgush.
