Iran has discovered significant natural gas reserves at the Pazan field following exploratory well testing, Shana news agency reported, citing Oil and Gas Minister Mohsen Paknejad. He stated that the new reserves are estimated at 10 trillion cubic feet (approximately 280 billion cubic meters).
The Pazan field is located approximately 21 kilometers from the city of Jam in Boshehr province. The minister noted that exploration work at this site had not been conducted for eight years, and work on a second exploration well had recently resumed.
Paknejad also clarified that gas production from new reserves could begin in 40 months.
