On October 1–2, the Training Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan held a seminar entitled “WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement: Categorization and Prioritization.”
International experts spoke at the seminar, organized as part of the "Turkmenistan: Trade Sustainability and Integration" program with the support of the European Union and the International Trade Center. This was reported on the customs service's website.
Participants discussed the key provisions of the WTO Agreement, issues of categorization of obligations, the implementation of modern customs administration tools, and the importance of interagency cooperation for the effective simplification of procedures.
As a result of the meeting, priority areas for reform and measures aimed at preparing Turkmenistan for its accession to the World Trade Organization were identified, the source notes.
