The Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva traditionally celebrated International Music Day.
A celebratory concert, organized by the chamber ensemble department, took place in the Great Hall of the Conservatory. According to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age," the organizers combined two dates—International Music Day and International Day of Older Persons, both celebrated on October 1—and specifically invited older music lovers to the concert.
That evening, the hall featured music by Rexhep Rexhepov, Bach, Puccini, Hydir Allanurov, Chopin, Ravel, Verdi, Sviridov, and other renowned composers. But, as per tradition, the honor of opening the concert program was given to the dutar: Lachin Khudaiberdyeva, winner of the "Turkmeniň Altyn Asyry" award, performed the Turkmen folk melody "Balsaýat."
The audience warmly welcomed the performance of tenor Meylis Muratgeldiyev, who performed the work “Söwer ýar” by Hydyr Allanurov, as well as the winner of the “Turkmeniň Altyn asyry” award Begench Moshiyev, who performed the work “Duran ýerlere” from the film “Keçpelek”.
A memorable joint performance by Aybolek Muhieva and Seyran Atanyazov, who performed Johann Bach's Concerto for Two Violins and Orchestra, was also a surprise for the audience. Jeren Kurbanklycheva's romance "Memories of You," which had not been included in the program, was also a surprise. Performers included singer Bahar Durdyeva and accompanist Stella Faramazova.
Fans of serious music particularly noted the performance of two works by Ravel, “Pawana” and “Alborada graçioza,” by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov.
The concert program concluded with Chary Nurymov's "Toý Aýdymy," which was performed by all the concert's vocalists, the source notes.
