The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Doha hosted a gala reception on September 30, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The event, held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel, was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
The reception was attended by the Minister of Labor of the State of Qatar Ali bin Saeed bin Samih Al-Marri, representatives of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors and diplomats of foreign countries, representatives of the media, as well as Turkmen citizens and students.
In his speech, Turkmen Ambassador M. Seyitmammedov emphasized the country's achievements since independence and the importance of Turkmenistan's international cooperation.
Guests at the reception were shown a video, performed Turkmen folk songs, and treated to national cuisine, the source noted.
