Heads of state and government from leading countries around the world sent congratulatory messages to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of independence, which is celebrated on September 27.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, among those congratulating the President of Turkmenistan were the leaders of the United States, Russia, China, France, Italy, and Iran, as well as the heads of state of Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. In their messages, the world leaders noted Turkmenistan's successes in socioeconomic development and expressed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
In his address, Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the successful implementation of the "Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State" strategy under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. "China, as a comprehensive strategic partner, sincerely welcomes all of Turkmenistan's successes," the Chinese leader noted, expressing his readiness to deepen cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
US President Donald Trump expressed Washington's high regard for relations with Ashgabat, reaffirming Turkmenistan's "unwavering and steadfast support for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence." The American leader particularly emphasized his "deep respect" for Turkmenistan's policy of positive neutrality.
Russian President Vladimir Putin described Russian-Turkmen relations as a "deep strategic partnership," noting their dynamic development "in all areas." According to the Russian leader, such cooperation "meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan."
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the "close and strong ties" between the two countries, based on their commitment to the principles of the UN Charter. The French leader particularly noted France's co-sponsorship of the UN General Assembly resolution on Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which will be renewed in 2025.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella emphasized the importance of regional cooperation within the "Italy-Central Asia" format for promoting "peace, stability, and sustainable development." The Italian leader expressed support for the "positively developing relations between Turkmenistan and the European Union."
In their congratulations, the leaders of the Central Asian states noted their fraternal ties with Turkmenistan and their readiness to expand multilateral cooperation.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized Turkmenistan's effective implementation of its "national development model" and expressed confidence in elevating bilateral cooperation "to a new level, both qualitatively and substantively."
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the high dynamism of Kazakh-Turkmen cooperation, which "is being imbued with new practical content through joint efforts."
In addition to Central Asian partners, congratulations were sent by the Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Emperor of Japan Naruhito.
In all their congratulatory messages, world leaders wished President Serdar Berdimuhamedov good health and success in his government duties, and the people of Turkmenistan peace, well-being, and continued prosperity.
