On October 4, the Great Hall of the Moscow House of Composers will host an evening entitled "Nostalgic Journey" as part of the 45th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Moscow Autumn."
The musical evening's program will feature premieres, including works by the outstanding Russian composer, professor at the Gnessin Academy of Music, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, and student of Aram Khachaturian, Kirill Volkov.
The "Diptych," written in 2024 and based on the poems of the Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, will be performed.
The first romance is inspired by Magtymguly's poem "I Don't Understand," translated by Yuri Gordienko, while the second piece is based on the poem "Swans," translated by Arseny Tarkovsky.
"Diptych" based on Magtymguly's poems was commissioned by the Moscow International Arts Festival "Sounds of the Dutar" and included in a collection of music and illustrations published in honor of the poet's 300th anniversary. The collection includes both musical and pictorial works by winners of the "Reflection" composer and illustration competitions. Works by distinguished artists who served on the jury, chaired by Kirill Volkov, also feature prominently.
The diptych will be performed by laureates of the "Sounds of the Dutar" festival-competition: Elena Druzhinkina (soprano), Maria Mityureva (soprano), and Maria Buyanova (piano), winner of the festival's Grand Prix.
The "Nostalgic Journey" concert will begin at 7:00 PM in the Great Hall of the House of Composers, located at 8/10 Bryusov Lane, Building 2, Moscow. Admission is free.
