The head coach of the Uzbek football club “Andizhan”, Maksim Shatskikh, said that his team is focused exclusively on winning the match against the Turkmen “Arkadag” in the first round of the AFC-2 Champions League.
“We didn’t come here for a draw, naturally, we’re playing to win,” Shatskikh emphasized at a press conference on the eve of the tournament’s opening match.
The specialist noted that “Andizhan” had thoroughly prepared for its debut performance in the AFC Champions League 2. The team analyzed all of “Arkadag's” games through the CAFA tournament, and also studied the opponent's performance in last year's AFC Challenge League.
"We had enough time to analyze. We prepared thoroughly for the first game in the group. We are new to this tournament. I think tomorrow will be an interesting and serious game," the head coach said.
“Andizhan” goalkeeper Erzhan Tokotayev confirmed his readiness for the match after a recent injury. "I underwent treatment after the injury. I am currently ready for the match. There is no pressure. We respect the opponent, but we are not afraid," the goalkeeper said.
Shatskikh also outlined the team's goal in the tournament: "The goal of all four teams is to get out of the group. We have the same goal. We are moving forward towards the goal through tomorrow's game."
Note that the “Arkadag” – “Andizhan” match will take place today at 18:45 Ashgabat time.
