Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova held a videoconference meeting with the Country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan Chinwe Ogbonna.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the diplomats noted the high level of interaction between Turkmenistan and UNFPA and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in priority areas.

Separately, the recent approval of the UNFPA Country Programme for Turkmenistan for 2026-2030 at the Second Regular Session of the UNFPA Executive Board, held on August 28 in New York, was noted.

The parties discussed issues of further development of joint agreements and plans, expressed mutual interest in developing partnership and confirmed their readiness to implement joint projects within the framework of the new Country Program.
