Employees of the “Morinzhgeology” service group climbed to the western and eastern peaks of Elbrus and established the state flag of Turkmenistan on the highest points of Europe on the eve of the 34th anniversary of the republic’s independence. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Golden Age".
The climbers conquered the western peak of 5 642 m high and the eastern – 5 621 m. Between them is a saddle at an altitude of 5 416 m. Both peaks are rounded by snow, which creates the characteristic appearance of the “gray -haired” Elbrus - an ancient sleeping volcano formed about a million years ago.
Behind experienced climbers are successful expeditions to the highest peaks of all continents. In 2011, they went up to Bolshaya Ararat (5 165 m), in 2014 they conquered Kilimanjaro (5 895 m) and a measure (4 562 m) in Tanzania. In 2018, the team ascended to Akonkagua in the Andes (6 961 m) on the border of Argentina and Chile, as well as to Mont Blanc (4 810 m) on the border of France and Italy.
In 2019, climbers reached the “roof of the world” - the peaks of Jomolungma (Everest) with a height of 8 848 m on the border of China and Nepal. In 2024, they conquered one of the most technically complex peaks of the planet - K2 (Chogori) with a height of 8 611 m in the Mountain System of Karakorum on the border of China and Pakistan. The flag of Turkmenistan was installed on all the conquered peaks.
