Mass cotton harvesting has begun in all regions of Turkmenistan. According to preliminary estimates, over 1,2 million tons of "white gold" are planned to be collected in 2025.
As reported by the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan", the first caravans with the harvested crop have already arrived at the receiving points. Cotton harvesters and other specialized equipment were prepared for the start of the harvesting campaign. Modern John Deere and CLAAS combines will allow the harvest to be collected in the optimal time frame.
According to tradition, honorary aksakals collected the first cotton bolls and wished farmers a successful completion of the harvesting campaign.
The largest harvest volume is planned in the Mary velayat - 359 thousand tons of raw cotton from 162 thousand hectares of sown area.
In the Lebap velayat, it is planned to collect 320 thousand tons of "white gold" from 130 thousand hectares.
Ahal velayat should ensure the collection of 280 thousand tons of cotton from an area of 135 thousand hectares.
In Dashoguz velayat, 275 thousand tons of harvest are planned from 140 thousand hectares of arable land.
The smallest volume of collection is planned in Balkan velayat - 16 thousand tons from 13 thousand hectares of sown area.
