A representative of the Ahal-Teke horse breed has become the winner at the international exhibition "Expo Prado 2025" in Uruguay. The only example of the Turkmen breed in the competition received the title of Grand Champion, reports the website rurales.elpais.com.
The judge of the competition, Fernando Perdigón, appreciated the qualities of the six-year-old stallion, noting the developed bone structure of the animal, which corresponds to the breed standards.
The horse's owner, Gustavo Dos Santos, noted that participation in the exhibition was a planned goal. He emphasized the rarity of this breed in Uruguay and the region of South America as a whole.
The breeder reported on the work to adapt the Ahal-Teke breed to sports disciplines in the conditions of Uruguay. According to him, the horses are being oriented towards show jumping, dressage and eventing.
Dos Santos described the representatives of the breed as trainable animals with good gaits, suitable for equestrian sports.
