Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan Aymyrat Gochmyradov took part in the 107th meeting of the CIS Economic Council, which took place on September 5 in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues of economic cooperation of the CIS member states was considered. The agenda included 27 issues, and 17 documents will be presented to the Council of Heads of Government, which will meet on September 29 in Minsk, the website of the CIS Executive Committee reports.
The members of the Economic Council considered: obstacles to mutual trade between the CIS member states and recommendations for their elimination; the draft Strategy for the digitalization of the main multimodal transport corridors of the CIS member states; the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030 and the Comprehensive Action Plan for 2021–2025 for its implementation.
The following were approved: the draft Strategy for Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Development of the Information Society and Digital Economy for the Period up to 2035 and the Action Plan for its Implementation; the draft Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2026–2035; the draft Action Plan for the Preparation and Implementation of the Year of Health in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2026.
The meeting reviewed the Report on the activities of the Interstate Council on Legal Protection and Intellectual Property in 2021–2024. The decision of the Economic Council approved the activities of the Intergovernmental Council for Exploration, Use and Protection of Subsoil in 2021–2024.
The decision of the CIS Economic Council granted the status of basic organizations to the CIS member states:
- in the field of adult traumatology and orthopedics to the Federal State Budgetary Institution “National Medical Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after N.N. Priorov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Moscow);
- in the field of pediatric traumatology and orthopedics to the Federal State Budgetary Institution “G.I. Turner National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Traumatology and Orthopedics” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (St. Petersburg).
In addition, a significant block of financial issues was considered at the meeting, including the draft unified budget of the CIS bodies for 2026, issues of improving the quality of life of war veterans - participants in local conflicts and their family members in the CIS member states, as well as the Report on the activities of the Advisory Council for the Support and Development of Small Entrepreneurship in 2018-2024 and others.
The next meeting of the Economic Council is scheduled for December 5 in Moscow.
