Today, the meeting of the heads of the National Societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent of the CIS countries continued in Ashgabat.
The event became an effective platform for discussing current humanitarian problems in the CIS countries and ways to solve them, reviewing the experience of interaction with government agencies and developing their own potential.
Today, the discussions touched upon the experience of national societies in developing the volunteer movement and income-generating activities. Representatives of national societies shared their practices, exchanged opinions and recommendations regarding these areas, reports a correspondent of "Turkmenportal".
During the meeting, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan (NRCST) signed memorandums of cooperation with the Russian Red Cross and the Qatar Red Crescent Society.

The signing ceremony of the memoranda became the central event of today.
These memoranda imply further cooperation in all areas of humanitarian and statutory activities.

Head of the International Department of the NOCST Vitaly Zatsepin:
"The signing of memorandums of understanding during the International Year of Peace and Trust was a landmark event for the Red Crescent of Turkmenistan. Within the framework of the signed documents, we and our partners will strive to develop projects and programs aimed at the benefit of people. This includes activities to respond to emergencies, disease prevention, development of volunteerism, social projects and much more. We are always open to cooperation and hope for the long-term nature of our partnership."
Following the signing ceremony of the memoranda, an exchange of views on the results of the meeting took place. In conclusion, the participants adopted a Declaration reflecting their common will to strengthen peace, trust and solidarity in order to protect the life, health and dignity of every person. This international forum was prepared and organized by the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan. Holding the forum during the International Year of Peace and Trust takes on special significance, since it is part of the comprehensive initiatives and efforts of Turkmenistan aimed at promoting the principles of trust, mutual understanding and partnership at the regional and international levels.
