Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volume of natural gas supplies to the SCO states, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced during his speech at the expanded meeting of SCO+, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
"We advocate closer cooperation in the energy sector. Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volume of natural gas supplies to the SCO countries," said the President of Turkmenistan.
He noted that today Turkmenistan also focuses on electric power. "We are open to discussing practical aspects of electricity supplies, expanding directions and volumes. In general, we consider the electric power industry as one of the priorities of cooperation with the SCO," Serdar Berdimuhamedov added.
Another area of possible cooperation is industrial cooperation. "I believe that the positive dynamics of economic growth inherent in our countries, the growing number of new industrial facilities, the expansion of the range of goods and services produced - all this should be embodied in the process of economic partnership. We are ready to take part in the industrial cooperation strategy," emphasized President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The SCO summit was held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1, and was attended by more than 20 leaders, as well as representatives of international organizations.
