Belarusian “Vitebsk” defender Vepa Jumayev scored his first goal for the Turkmenistan national team in the match against Kyrgyzstan (1:1) in the first round of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Nations Cup. The match took place at the “Zhar” stadium in Tashkent.
24-year-old Jumaev opened the scoring in the 44th minute of the first half – he headed the ball into the net after a corner kick. The Kyrgyzstanis managed to equalize almost immediately – in the 45th minute, Joel Kojo scored an accurate strike.
The national teams of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan are playing in group A of the tournament. In another match of the group, the national teams of Uzbekistan and Oman also drew with a score of 1:1. After the first round, all four teams scored one point each.
In the second round, which will take place on September 2, the national team of Turkmenistan will meet the team of Uzbekistan at the “Olympic” stadium in Tashkent. The game starts at 19:30 Ashgabat time. On the same day, Kyrgyzstan will play against Oman at the “Zhar” stadium.
