A briefing on Turkmenistan’s priority positions at the upcoming 80th anniversary session of the United Nations General Assembly was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 30.
The briefing was attended by heads and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as local media.
In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov noted the significance of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly as an important milestone symbolizing the sustainability and relevance of multilateral diplomacy.
He stressed that Turkmenistan’s policy of positive neutrality, based on trust and respect, is an effective tool for strengthening stability, preventing conflicts and developing international cooperation.
During the briefing, the active and constructive role of Turkmenistan in peacebuilding, promotion of regional and international stability and sustainable development was noted, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
