The EU Delegation to Turkmenistan opened the annual “Back to School” campaign with a charity event to support families in difficult life situations and children with disabilities, the press service of the EU Delegation to Ashgabat reported.
Within the framework of the campaign, which was held in partnership with the public organizations "Keyik Okara" and the Center for Support of People with Disabilities of Turkmenistan, 50 sets of school supplies were distributed to children preparing for the new school year.
“This is the fourth year in a row that we have organised such an event,” the EU Delegation noted, stressing its commitment to inclusive education.
The EU Ambassador to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa personally participated in the ceremony of handing over backpacks and school kits. “Education opens doors to new worlds, and we are here to help you take this step. These school kits are not just supplies, they are your tools for discovery, creativity and growth,” she addressed the children.
The festive atmosphere of the event was provided by the Rishat agency, which organized an entertainment program with animators.
As the EU representation emphasizes, such initiatives are aimed at giving every child the opportunity to learn and develop regardless of life circumstances.
