A trilateral summit meeting with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev began in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the Caspian Sea coast.
As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports, this international event marks the emergence of relations between the countries of the region to a qualitatively new level.
"Currently, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan effectively cooperate in various fields, including in the political and diplomatic sphere, which is the main condition for ensuring universal peace and sustainable development in the region. Organizing a summit between neighboring countries on the Caspian Sea coast has a profound meaning. This also helps to strengthen the status of the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone as a center for holding important international events," the agency said in a statement.
As reported earlier, the agenda of the Avaza summit includes issues of developing and deepening multilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and communications, energy and humanitarian spheres. Following the summit, it is planned to sign a number of joint documents.
